The Painter
by: I'm From Barcelona

6. The Painter – I’m From Barcelona

This song is just great. I say this as an art student, and as a person who likes happifying music (yes, happifying is now a word). This is a song that all artists – whether that be painters or musicians or whatever – should listen to. There is not one thing about this song that I don’t like. The message it sends (‘don’t give up on your dreams’), the upbeat sound of it, the mounting energy in it… what’s not to love? It’s like it tells you, ‘express yourself, be creative, and screw anyone who tries to tell you otherwise.’

I’m just a painter/ I do my crappy art/ But I see what’s in your eyes/ And I know what’s in your heart
